Our Philosophy It is our vision as equestrian coaches to provide students with a safe and rewarding environment in which to develop their riding skills. From Beginner through to advanced levels we want to emphasize to students that they need to develop an understanding with the horse as this is essential in achieving a successful partnership. This process helps to reinforce life skills. Students develop important character traits such as confidence, decisiveness, and pride as well as the ability to handle oneself with maturity in stressful or pressured situations. We believe that students should advance at their own rate and without the pressure to compete unless that is their own desire. Competition quickly advances the skills of horse and rider alike. If a competitive path is chosen we strive to teach our students that gauging success is better applied to the improvement in the horse-rider team than by comparisons of oneself with others. We want our students to develop their strengths and judge their success on their improvements. Competitive riding is a balance of a rider's training and ability, their horse’s training and their horse’s natural ability. Our Program Just like people horses learn at their own rate and need individualized programs in order to maximize their abilities. We ask a lot of our equine partners and they in turn should be treated with the utmost of care and respect. We customise each horse’s training program to suit the horse's temperament. a confident horse will perform to the best of its ability. We want to keep the horse healthy happy and confident so that it can have a successful and lasting career. Facilities Built on a beautiful 138 acre section of land overlooking the Norwester Mountains and Slate River Valley TDF backs on to the local horse show grounds making local events just a short 5 minute trail ride away. As well as 60 x 60 ft farm yard winter pens, we have numerous 10-20 acre summer pastures with forests and ponds for plenty of down time between horse shows. The facility has 3 tie areas, indoor wash rack, hot and cold running water ,and a hot walker. The lower barn is heated and boasts 14 stalls. The upper barn is located inside the arena with 7 stalls. We also have miles of trails that stay groomed all year long for hacking. The indoor arena, 60 x 120 feet, is dust controlled for a comfortable riding environment. The outdoor riding arena is 120 x 360 feet and offers natural cross country obstacles along the perimeter as well as in the adjoining field. There is a heated viewing lounge overlooking the indoor riding arena with two large picture windows. It also has a full kitchen and bathroom making for a cosy warm place for friends and family to watch.
