A special visitor
At the end of May, the Dell will have a very special visitor! Jenn Burgoyne is an RCMP officer and will be on her way to Ottawa to train for the 2011
season of the musical ride. We would like to welcome her and are looking forward to her visit.
This is a little bit about her:
"I'm originally from Milton, Ontario and left for Regina, SK to the RCMP
training academy in May 2006. I was then posted to Saltspring Island, BC in
October 2006. So at the beginning of November I jumped in my Alero with my
two cats and drove across Canada in 5 days, a troop mate of mine was driving
his vehicle at the same time. It was cold and we didn't see anything but
the highway - no sight seeing.
I've always wanted to be part of the Musical Ride and in November 2009 I
traveled to Ottawa and participated in the 5 week Basic Equitation Course.
At the end I was offered a transfer to the Musical Ride, which I accepted!
So that brings me to the move...
I decided that this would be a great opportunity to see the country and do
so with my equine companions alongside. So I have shipped two of my horses
out to Ottawa and the other two are coming with me on this adventure. I
have a friend joining me on the trip who actually doesn't have much horse
experience at all - their in for a treat. We are spending 3 to 5 days in
each location so that we can ride the countryside and see what each Province
has to offer, since our countryside is so different. Our stops include:
Kamloops, Banff, Calgary, Regina, Winnipeg, Thunder Bay & Sault Ste. Marie -
before arriving in Ottawa."
